Purpose

To seal off wellbore pressure within the tubing string.

Operation

Attach equalizing assembly to appropriate lock mandrel and attach to a “P” Running Tool. Lower into the wellbore and jar into corresponding nipple, once seated into profile nipple, jar up to shear pins in running tool and remove toolstring from the wellbore.To remove, jar down on top of prong with the corresponding pulling tool (RS type recommended), this will shear pins in the “S” equalizing assembly and begin equalizing.

Upon equalization, jar down to release keys and latch the fishneck, pull from nipple and remove from wellbore.

Precautions

Care should be taken to record wellbore pressure before plug is installed. This will aid in equalizing when retrieving operations commence.
