Purpose

The tube jar is used for special tasks when spang jars are not practical.

Description

Tubular jars have five components:

1. Fishneck

2. Barrel

3. End Cap

4. Nut

5. Stroke Rod

Operation

Tubular jars operate and serve the same tasks as the spang jar. Tubular jars are often used in casing for wireline fishing jobs and sand bailing.

Precautions

As with other jars do not remove toolstring from bottom of hoisted lubricator with jars still connected.
